Friday – Your adventure begins as you step aboard your direct flight from the UK to Stockholm Arlanda Airport with Norwegian Airlines. Flights depart from London Gatwick at 13:00 or Manchester Airport at 12:40 and take around 2hours 30minutes. After touching down at Stockholm Arlanda Airport it’s a short transfer to the heart of the city.
Arriving in the chic Sodermalm district of Stockholm you check in to the superb Scandic Malmen Hotel. Found at the heart of the city’s most fashionable district, Sodermalm, the hotel is surrounded by Stockholm’s best places to eat, drink and shop. Spend the evening at the hotel’s superb a la carte restaurant followed by a drink or two in the bar, or head out in to the bright lights of the enchanting Swedish capital. Sodermalm attracts an enthusiastic, metropolitan crowd and is known as the stylish, bohemian soul of Stockholm. It’s the perfect place to party.
Saturday – After a comfortable night’s sleep, head for you delicious buffet breakfast. There are around a hundred dishes to choose from so fill up on whatever takes your fancy.
After breakfast it’s time for a little sightseeing. Stockholm is the most popular tourist destination in the whole of Scandinavia and it’s easy to see why. Built on fourteen islands where Lake Malaren joins the Baltic Sea, the city has a unique, timeless character. The beauty of the old medieval district Gamla Stan contrasts with the chic eateries and bijou boutiques of the modern Queen Street (Drottninggatan)
Stroll around the spectacular Royal Palace and watch the changing of the guards or absorb some Swedish culture and history with a visit to the fascinating Vasa Museum.
As evening approaches it’s time to head to the cruise terminal for your party cruise. Viking Cinderella departs at 18:00 so make sure you are there to board by 17:00 at the latest. The terminal is a short taxi ride from your hotel.
Once you have boarded and settled in to your comfortable en suite cabin, it’s time for dinner. At the Viking Buffet you can choose from a mouth-watering variety of dishes. You’ll find everything from Asian fusion to modern French cuisine, as well as a tasty selection of fresh seafood and Scandinavian specialities. To get your night off to a good start, help yourself to the free beer and wine that comes with your buffet meal. Soft drinks are also available.
As day turns in to night, the party really begins. With two clubs, three bars, a cabaret lounge and a casino, your night will be full of fun and excitement. Each bar sells a superb variety of beers, wine and cocktails at very reasonable prices. Kick your night off with a cocktail and a shot at Admiral Hornblower’s Pub then head to the Fun Club for a dance.
When you decide it’s time for bed your comfortable cabin is only a short walk away. For late night revellers the party continues to 5am.
Sunday – In the morning, head to the main restaurant for breakfast. You’ll enjoy a mouth-watering variety of dishes, from the classic continental combination of fresh fruit, yoghurt and cereals to the indulgent full-English. Top it all off with coffee, tea or fruit juice and you’re set for the day.
Before Cinderella arrives back in Stockholm there’s time to browse the duty free shops, get some fresh sea air out on deck or treat yourself to a rejuvenating spa treatment
It’s time to say goodbye to Cinderella and catch your transfer back to the airport. Your flight home to the UK departs early evening from Stockholm Arlanda.
